Catalan participants at MEDICA 2011
The 43rd edition of Medica MEDICA, worldwide most important Medical Technologies Fair, will take place in Düsseldorf (Germany) from the 16th to the 19th of November.
Catalan companies and organizations within this sector participate in this fair in different activities:
- Participant in the Brokerage Event organized by ACC1Ó in collaboration with Biocat, Tic-salut and Fenin. 30 minutes bilateral meetings between companies and organizations from the countries which are members of the Enterprise Europe Network
- Participant in Compamed , High tech solutions for medical technology area with the participation of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona
- Exhibitors
- Visitants

Medical Technologies Sector in Catalonia is well-known for its dynamism, innovation and capacity to create new products proved by the 77% of growth generated in the last two years.
This sector is formed by approximately 270 companies, from multinationals to SME with a big potential of growth which is employing 5,000 people and with more than 1,200 MEUR Turnover. Moreover, there are 13 hospitals in Catalonia developing research activity.
As main areas of activity, 50% of the companies within the sector are focused on electro medicine, diagnosis in vitro, odontology, orthopedics and ophthalmology.
