The European Commission has set up the ENTERPRISE EUROPE NETWORK (EEN) through its Directors General (DG) for Business and Industry. The EEN offers small and medium-sized businesses (SME) information and advice on policy and business opportunities in EU countries, as well as assistance in technology transfer processes and access to European programs for finance, and for research and development and innovation (R&D&i).
The EEN is a network of partners with more than 500 organisations, made up of chambers of commerce, business development agencies and university technology centres. The network offers concrete and effective solutions for companies in more than 40 countries including the 27 member states of the European Commission, the 3 candidate countries, the member states of the European Economic Area, and also to third party states that participate in this network.
The objective of the EEN is to help the European SME to develop its innovative potential and improve its knowledge of European Union policies. The principal activities of the EEN are the following:
